Experience
I received my bachelor's degree in biology from Michigan State University. Not too long after receiving my four-year degree, I enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Toledo. During this time, I also worked as a physics lecturer, where I helped college students gain a better understanding of this exciting and sometimes challenging field. As someone who loves teaching and learning, I've been working in education for three decades now. There's nothing I love more than having the opportunity to help interested students improve their classroom knowledge and prepare for life outside of university. In my experience, the best way to teach physics is to also help students improve their math skills. There's a lot of mathematics that goes along with physics, and for people who aren't particularly good with numbers and equations, the math portion can start to feel overwhelming. For this reason, I try to break up difficult concepts into bite-sized chunks, so that students are able to learn at their own pace. At the moment, I am teaching physics at the University of Connecticut and am working with college students as well as high school students enrolled in a dual-learning program. When I'm not teaching, I like to spend my time playing tennis, golf, and riding my motorcycles.
